The Silvis School District #34 is located in the region known as the Quad Cities, bordering the Mississippi River. We are a Pre-K through 8th grade school district with an enrollment of over 650 students.
Some facts about our school district:
- Staffing: Superintendent, Business Manager, 2 principals, 1 half-time special services coordinator, 44 teachers, 22 full time support personnel, and 10 part time support personnel
- Facilities: Pre-K through 5th grade are housed at George O. Barr Elementary (remodeled in the spring of 2012) and grades 6-8 housed at Northeast Jr. High School (built in 2011)
- Curriculum: Silvis School District #34 meets all requirements of the Illinois State Board of Education. Curriculum is developed around the New Illinois Learning Standards and utilizes the ISBE Professional Learning Series and Model Math Curriculum Units. Other offerings include MTSS (formerly known as RtI), art, computers, library, instrumental and vocal music, physical education, and a variety of academic and athletic extracurricular activities.
